Nepal, a country with beautiful nature and high mountains, is now facing a devastating natural disaster. Since August ۲۶, a catastrophic flood caused by glacier melting at the border of China and Nepal has claimed the lives of over ۱,۴۱۰ people and left ۵,۶۵۱ missing. This incident has affected not only Nepal but also China, where reports indicate ۴۳ deaths and ۵۱۹ missing persons.
Search Operations Continue
The Nepalese army is searching for survivors in the tunnels of the Trishuli ۳A, ۳B, and Chilime hydropower projects. These searches are difficult and complex, and so far only three people, including two Nepalese and one Chinese man, have been rescued from the depths of the tunnels. However, there is still no official confirmation of finding more survivors.
Thousands of local residents have been left homeless due to this disaster and are living in temporary camps. The charity organization 'Save the Children' has reported that up to ۵۴۰ children have been separated from their parents.
