A case in which three men are accused of murdering two Australian brothers and their American friend in Mexico has recently begun in court. Father's Testimony; A Real Hell
The victims' father, Martin Robinson, referred to the love and unfulfilled dreams of his children in court, saying: "This is hell. For a parent, losing one son is enough, but we lost two sons." He added, referring to his children's lost dreams: "We lost not only two sons but their entire future." Martin recalled the moment he had to identify his children's bodies, talking about the tattoo on Callum's wrist and the need for a photo to identify Jake.
Victim's Mother; Pain and Sorrow
The mother of their American friend, Paige Rahad, likened the crime to a form of execution, saying: "Every day I miss my son, and I don't know if I can return to normalcy or not." She referred to her son's love for Mexico and the Spanish language, describing him as a person with a vibrant and social spirit.
Judicial authorities announced that these three young men were murdered while attempting to steal their pickup truck. Their vehicle was later found burned near their burial site. A protected witness also testified in court that after hearing gunshots, he fled the scene with one of the defendants and was subsequently threatened into silence.
This crime and the disappearance of these surfers sparked a wave of reactions and sorrow in Australia and the United States, with searches for their bodies prominently featured on social media. Martin Robinson stated in court: "We hold no grudges against those who did this, but we cannot understand how they could take the lives of two beautiful human beings." The trial is expected to continue until the end of September, with Rahad's spouse also set to testify on Wednesday.
